Hello Folks,

I think I see how the pathing works. If I understand this correctly, ALL of my photos (of a given size, say 'normal') will end up in one directory. Do I have this correct?

The question arises because I have two digital cameras from the same manufacturer so the numbering scheme is same. Were I to load pictures from both cameras I could end up with duplicate file names. To further complicate the process my wife also has a camera of the same model.

Should I consider multiple path setups for 'normal' for example to eliminate this problem?

Cheers.

I would rather rename the files before uploading them... i only use a dd_mm_year_###.jpg format...

...or for your example camera_type_photographer_date_####.jpg or something similar and stick to this naming convention... easily done with the right software. Also i properly order all my EE2 pictures separately from those i do not publish at all...

To be exact: when you upload, photos are resized and ftp'd according to settings of currently selected size path(s). How the path system is defined is all up to you, you can have several paths called "small" going to several folders in any of your servers - but usually it is wise to keep it simple, easier to back it up, too.

EE renames files while uploading, if duplicate filenames are detected in database.
