A tecnique i have to deepen.
Some shots i did last winter.
I have to find a model and try with a human body.
What do you think?

I like it. care to share the technique? I personally prefer the bottle and glass shot. Very 'Ye olde inn' feel to the lighting.
Cheers,
Mark.

I'll try to explain (I have google translator as my best friend!).
It is inspired to Caravaggio painting. I found some hints in a photography review and I thought it was a very interesting and simple tecnique.
You need a little torch, the tripod and a remote controller if you have one ( but it's not important if you can use automatic shutter release).
Choose an object, human too, put it in a dark room (this is an important thing because you must use very a long exposure), then shoot.
During the shot, light with the torch your subject, moving near and far from it so you can obtain diffrent effects.
First times i set 400/800 iso, BULB and f 5,6, then i saw that lights were too strong ( photo 1), it depends to the direction of beam: if it is toward lens you have a very strong ray of light. So I increased time and set f 8 or f11, iso 100 (with 350d noise was unbearable), and never leaned torch toward lens (shots #2 and #3).
It's interesting use different kinds of lights or reflecting surfaces.
Please, correct me if you see I'm using wrong verbs or expressions. I decided to enter this forum to learn more, speaking about something I love.

I love number 3. You did a fantastic job of communicating the depth of the cylinders in a unique and interesting way.

Thanks for the explanation, clear and to the point. I am currently in Belize on a work project and away from my cameras so will definitely try this when I get home to my small place in the sun in Bali.
Cheers,
Mark.
