I just got my Canon Powershot S1s,(about a week ago) and this is one of the first pics I shot. This was shot through a double insulated window from my den, at a distance of about 10-12 ft. The camera was on auto-focus with the zoom at 10X. It was very cloudy this day, so the lighting was poor, but I chose not to use the flash, because of shooting through the window. The second photo is one where I added contrast at +10 on the photo program I use. I think it improves the pic considerably. Hope you enjoy! This is my first post, and I welcome ANY comments, pro or con. Have a great day!

Great shot considering your circumstances, though to tree trunk looks more in focus than the bird does. Does the photo program you use have unsharp mask or a sharpen function? It may help. Keep up the good work, and welcome to the forum.

Thanks Julie, and I believe my program does have at least the sharpen function. I'll have to give that a try.

Thanks Reigh, and I plan to do a lot of photography. I'm really new at this so I expect I can only get better. I'm an optimist!!

This is a very nice effort. The S1 is a fun camera, isn't it? Great for birds, even if just for later identification. I certainly enjoy mine. I agree on the unsharp mask; it sharpens what needs to be sharpened without sharpening everything. Worth trying.

Thank you, Bodryn, and I do like my S1.
