Star made what seems like a good suggestion in( The Word is Free section )that members of the forum should say where they are from.
Eight hundred members have visited this topic,presumably because they are interested in where their fellow members hail from.From this number(800) the staggering total of 40 yes forty have seen fit to respond.Now is it me or is this really weird.?
Presumably everyone is a member because they a) want to be b) enjoy being a member so why would 760 not want to say where they are from??

Don't let that 800 fool you. I read the thread every time I notice a new post. So, I am responsible for about ten to fifteen hits myself, if not more.

Lets say 50 people have read that thread 15 times each. That would account for about 750 hits.

Anyway, I think a majority of the people who read the thread post where they are from.

I do agree that it would be nice if 100% people who read that thread make a post.

800 "views" does not mean 800 people viewed the thread, most people view it multiple times to see if someone replied AND to reply. I personally clicked on that thread quite a few times.

Good Point:

Around the time of that post, (I do not recall all of the detail) members also suggested that it would be a good idea for everyone to state their given name -- rather than their code name, along with location in future posts. So, for a few months closed mine with HOWIE (Ottawa, Ontario).

Don't be discouraged. Amoung the 800 there are bound to be 10 who share your photographic interests, and you will get to know who they are and where they are from.

Finally, if you feel perplexed about the response to this topic, how do you think Pekka feels about member participation in his exhibition. Let's not forget to submit photos for posting on Pekka's exhibition site. It is a beauty too !
