Hi - I'm new to the forum and have enjoyed seeing all the great work. This is my first try at posting a picture. It's probably not very good technically, but it was taken unassisted by my 9 year old a couple of weeks ago with my old G2. It was a mild early winter evening, and I had snuck down to the lake to try a few last casts of the day. He came up behind me to take some pix of the sunset and me. I just downloaded this batch of pictures today. I thought this one looked pretty cool, so I cropped it just a teeny bit and thought I'd share.

Very cool photo. If a photo moves you, it's good---no matter the "technical" part. This is a great photo.

Nine years old you say? Looks like He has a good eye for composition. :D

Thanks, guys. Yeah, he seems to have natural eye. He started messing around with my first digital camera (an old Mavica) 3 or 4 years ago, and despite that camera's limitations and his age, he's done some neat shots. I'll dig out a couple more of the better ones later and post.

Thanks again. I'm definitely a proud dad. No fish that night, though, but the photos were worth it! Here are a couple more (from the Mavica, though, so the resolution is not so good). Again, though, these seem to me to be pretty interesting shots for a youngster to have composed on his own. The pumpkin farm shot amazed me. It's a shame that it's a tad out of focus, although that almost adds to the mood. I tried to sharpen it a little in PS, but I was afraid of ruining it. The action shot is from a Renaissance Festival and is totally unedited.

Sorry. I'm having trouble uploading the other two shots mentioned in my message above. I think I need to do some quick reading and will try again. Sorry again.

That shot of the Knight on horseback at the Renaissance Fair was done very well. I think some of the adults woud have had a hard time keeping the horse and rider that well framed. :D

Last pic needs some saturation I think. Other than that great pics.

hi pontio. i love your first pic. love the colors. it puts me in a good mood.
just 2 comments... one, straighten out the horizon. its tilting a bit low to the right and, the railing, i think its a little distractive. perhaps you can clone that out.
great shot.

When I saw the picture, it reminded me of this one that I took last year!
