Here's a shot of a English riding horse. This is a proper shot for them with the outside hoof up quartering to the camera. Let me tell ya it isn't as easy as it looks to get that hoof in that position! the backgrounds were like this all around the arena so there was trucks and trailers no matter what.

nice, but id like to see a more blurred background.

Nice capture and timing just a shame about the background. Ideally the leg closest to the camera should be in that position ;-).

Yeah there is a lot of area in the ring so need to run a fairly small f-stop to get rider and horse in focus. Bollan the outside leg is the proper leg so you can see the muscles in the chest as well as the form of the horse.

Agree with Bolan, in my experience it should be on the other diagonal. Nice picture though, sometimes you cannot do much about the background.

Cool shot.
I'm a horseback rider, but don't have much experience with Saddlebreds, so looked it up for my own interest...

It appears you do have the correct leg rising.. just google Saddlebred and all the pictures I found have the outside leg raised. :)

For victory passes you want the outside leg up. For ring shots, you want the inside leg up. :)
