Hello All,

I hope that I've posted this in the correct section.

Today was the last day of the European Cup Final, Water Ski Race in Cardiff Bay - And it was a typical day with our typical weather, well, at least the rain held off.

This is my first time photographing something like this, so all comments welcome as hopefully I can use them as a positive to help me along the way;

No, pretty good! One thing I'd say is, if possible, get tighter.

Thanks for the response, at least you don't think that they are that bad ;)
Unfortunately that's the maximum reach I have, I popped on my wide angle lens from the same vantage point and this is the result;

It has definitely made me think about a longer lens or converter though, perhaps something to think about in the future :)

The skiing shots are a bit far out as mentioned but the boat shots are nice. There's some serious honk pushing them !

I bet that 99 boat goes like stink.

I think a 100-400mm would have suited this event very well, also need something pretty fast due to the gloomy UK weather.

Boat 99 was good, the Cyclone had the biggest engine and made one hell of a noise - Apparently, according to the announcer over the tannoy, this was a Formula 1 class speed boat;

I think there may be similar events later in the year, so I will have to try and find a better vantage point - Perhaps from the other end on the bay if they'll allow people down there.
