This was taken on a very cloudy day, at about 5 pm. I used the EOS Rebel Digital. Are there any comments?

Lovely lady... try Auto-Contrasting in Photoshop 7 or 8... or Auto-Level in any other program. She'll get brighter.
Cheers,
Don
P.S. If you like, I'll upload a slightly modified version. If not...that's understandable.

Hi Fer,
just to give you an impression on how a black-and-white version could look like: I cropped your original photo slightly and converted it into bw. How do you like this one?
Kind regards,
J.

I think the B&W tends to overdramatize her wrinkles.....while the color plays it down a little. I'm leaning more for the color.....but I think its kind of a close one. Wonder what a sephia tone would do to the picture.

Like this?... Hmmm... Maybe she needs more contrast... I will work on that.

I like the lady in color... so that's what I did... and next time be a good grandson and arrange those pearls. :) I always forget to take a critical look at my subject before I take the photo... but I'm trying to get better. Anyway, heeeere's Nana....

Granddaughters are supposed to take an even greater interest in the jewelery.
I'm being whipped into shape by Leela who's always telling me to shoot faster and then giving me a bollocking about her collar or jacket or necklace. So I'm getting quicker at both looking at the subject and then clicking the shutter.
I now try to look at someone as though looking at myself. What would I not want to see in a photo of myself? And then I try to fix it before I take the photo. Since it usually involves really looking at the person and touching them, it's often more welcome than the photo itself because it's human contact and concern.
The added bonus is that it's all easier to fix in the field than in Photoshop.
She's beautiful... and she seems to be as nice as she looks.
Cheers,
Don

LOL Don... Yes, I agree... Women are more "perfeccionist" in jewerly... LOL I have to take care of it, but thanks, now you made myself conscious about that and now itīs stick to my head, which is good :)
I have funny ones about her, let me see if I can find one. She is one nice lady :)
