Went up to Ribblehead to capture a real steam train, Oliver Cromwell, was a misty wet day so had to fight with the conversion to pull some contrast out, the steam train looks tiny, [better on large print], added a platinum tone for effect, I have more shots closer of the train which i will edit but this angle i do love as it shows the sheer size of the viaduct and its wonderful setting

beautiful shot! i love the detail in the steam from the train. i would suggest maybe slight straightening, and maybe crop out some grass at the bottom (that part looks HDR'd)

Damn man, that is a nice shot. Maybe I should give a second thought to B&W now!

Nothing at all needs cropped on this work of art. Amazing, as it is!

Great capture, fantastic mood, excellent PP. I don;t mean to cheapen it, but that's got "Hogwarts Express" written all over it.

LOoool do you know that a Japanese photographer has been prosecuted and convicted i guess because he altered a photo just like this but he added some bulls running under the bridge and claimed that it was real and won some fancy award before he got caught...
Great shot mate

I've seen that shot and thought the same thing. This one is plenty impressive as it is without the need to alter a thing.

I like it. It has a nice moody feel to it. At first glance you don't see the train but you eye is drawn into it by the viaduct.

Superb...

Looks like a 19th century illustration from a Jules Verne work.

Wall Worthy for sure!

Excellent shot and conversion. But Roman soldiers never used anything like this for foot travel. They built viaducts like this with a water trough on top, to bring water long distances, just like we do today.

Thank you all for your comments, to get this shot as taken many visits, the weather up there can be bad, or trains cancelled, the Viaduct might look as though its not straight thats because it has an incline as it rises to go further into the valley
