Hey everyone,
I've been revamping my photography site over the last month, and would like some feedback. I'm still not finished with it completely, and thats why I'm asking for any feedback or suggestions now. Any and all comments are appreciated. Here is the site: ryandunnewold.com (http://www.ryandunnewold.com)

Thanks,
Ryan

I think your price for a senior sitting fee is a little low. 35$ for 5 hrs?
the site looks good and works fast on this end.

thanks for the input, yeah my prices are pretty low, i considered raising it, but my problem is that at my school I already announced it at $35, so right now I'm set on getting the customers, and it attracted a lot of people, I will likely go ahead and raise it on my site and just tell the school that it maintained the same price for them. Thanks again for checking it out.

Yeah it's come well. I like it. Although your 'Studio' gallery seems to be more macro stuff,,,

yeah my studio stuff is macro pretty much, its just stuff that I setup in my studio, rather than outdoor macro if that makes sense.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, its much appreciated.

Your portraits are very good, way better then what your charging. Get your prices up.

Add static next\previous pics navigation icons if possible. Once your images are loaded unless one moves the cursor all the way right it just appears you have one image and no way to navigate. Once you are navigating you have to constantly move your mouse to find the next arrow to click on. Sounds petty but intuitive and effortless navigation is VERY important.

Most people will wait for a visual button to click on after your gallery loads. Many people are to impatient to wait, after about 10sec. they may just move on.

just my 2 pennies worth
best of luck,

Shoot you are way too cheap..... Around here some photographers are charging 40 bucks for just one 8x10 sheet plus 50 bucks for sitting fee.

I'll just use the JOOMLA slogan on this one "Power in simplicity"!

Site looks good and i like the simpleviewer setup without the thumbnails. Infact you just helped me decide on how to redo my own gallery ;)

I like your site, Ryan. As others have said, you're pricing pretty cheap. By the way, you should buy the un-branded version of Simpleviewer, it only costs about $10 or so, and would definitely help polish up the galleries.

I thought the site was great. It works really quick and I didn't have to wait much at all, although I have a cable connection. Almost everyone has a fast connect anyways in this day an age. Also, pictures were great! I was really impressed - good work! Oh ya, you should think about raising your price after you get going. Your work is worth much more than what your charging - just my 2 cents.

Site looks awesome though!

Gotta ask about the wedding price. I know people like base prices but $500 for any length? Most I've seen have a 3hr rounded price. 5hr then like 8hr. Just asking since a client will no doubt.

Thanks guys, I'm planning on raising price shortly after I graduate high school, I'm in my last year. These prices are just preliminary to get under way. Once I get rolling, I'm gonna be setting more detailed pricing and higher likely. I really appreciate it guys, still would love any feedback that anyone has to offer, I'm still up for editing things.

Don't know what it looks like on everyone's monitor but your print/text is very small, making the button separation very little. (ex: when you click on portfolio, then your sub category comes up the text is very small and the boarders around the text makes it seem like it runs together.

But I am running a higher resolution than 1024*768 so it might be bigger on lower, smaller monitors?

Thanks, I've been thinking about that, I'm on a 1440 x 900, so i can see that its pretty small, I'll probably look into changing that sometime soon. Thanks again.

Hello Ryan. I like your website. Very clean, simple and professional...just what people want when going to look at photos. The more "junk" they have to look at will only make it more difficult to view what they are there to look at...your photos. It also can confuse the not-so-experienced web surfer, which in reality is probably 50% of your potential customers...mothers, fathers, grandparents, etc...they weren't raised with computers so many (most) of them aren't as web-worthy as the younger generation. I think you've done well in making it easy and simple for those customers to view your photos. I agree with the person in a previous post about adding static buttons to navigate forward and backward. I personally don't like having to move my cursor all over the place to view photos (but that's my little quirk, I'm sure many others don't care) so I use the arrows on my keyboard. Many inexperienced surfers don't know they can do that, so static buttons are very intuitive. Anyways, in a nutshell, very nice, and best of luck with your site and your business!

~Roger

oh yeah...raise those prices ;)
