My D30 has started giving me fairly regular Error -84 messages - which necessitates me turning the camera off and on again.
I *know* that this is a lens communication error - but the contacts on all my lenses are clean, as are the body contacts. I have gotten this error both with my Canon 70-200 2.8, and a 20-35 lens - so it doesn't seem to be an issue of a larger weight lens pulling off the contacts.
In any case - has anyone had a similar experience? I am in Shanghai currently (camera is from Canada), and have not yet taken it in to an authorized service centre.
Additionally, this past weekend the D30 seems to have corrupted one of my 128 meg CF cards (no-name flash unforutnately) that has some photos that are important to me.
Again - any similar experiences? Thoughts? Suggestions? (i have put the CF in 2 different cameras and a dedicated CF reader with no luck).
Incredibly frustrating, so if anyone can shed any light on this I would be most grateful.
Cheers.
(I originially posted this on http://luminous-landscape.com but no one there has been able to shed light on it either)
