Hello everyone,
If I use a card-reader to read the CF card instead of using the silly Canon software, how can I view the EXIF data?
Is there any benefits to shooting in Adobe RGB mode?

The EXIF data's embedded in the jpg itself, you use just about any image viewer to view it: ACDSee, picasa 2 (free at google.com), ulead studio (old version free at ulead.com).
If you don't understand Adobe RGB you probably don't need it. As I understand it, it just allows a wider range of colors to be recorded, but for most people it doesn't matter. I shoot RAW which bypasses that setting anyway. Color is a VERY complex topic, I know almost nothing about it.
Hope that helps.

EXIF data can just as easily be in a RAW file.
The Canon utilities let me see all the EXIF data I need.

Of course. Because of the level of the question I assumed JPG was the most likely shooting mode, so I didn't bother to complicate matters.

I'm using JPEG now, I don't know enough to use RAW quite yet. I'll have to learn more before I do that.
I find that alot of people here want to buy a digital camera, and do everything like a pro. You can't just expect pro-results if your a newbie, there's an education process.
