Has anyone bought the full version of this Velvia simulation ? I've been trying the trial version and it doesn't seem convert images at full size. The file info still says the images are the full pixel size but you can't zoom in with the same detail as the original image and the file size is much reduced.

Even so I was quite impressed with the results especially of some grassy landscapes and woodlands. It really seemed to bring out a lot of colour shading and detail that I couldn't replicate (not easily anyway) with sharpening, contrast and colour correction (PS Elements 2). But I do need to keep all my pixels !

I took a look at the homepage of the software developer (opanda.com) and three "warning flags" came up for me:

1. The developer is based in China.
2. They state "if you have no credit card, you can remit money to our account at bank..."
3. They have a Hotmail email address.

None of these things by themselves are necessarily bad, but I would be very careful sending them money. The program itself looks interesting, though.

And Roger Cavanagh has a nice set, too. One free set and a better set that costs a small amount.

You could probably find a hundred free Velvia actions out these, but I'd think that Fred Miranda's or Roger Cavanagh's would be better than most. http://www.rogercavanagh.com/variations/velvia/01_velvia-1.stm

Thanks for those suggestions everybody. As far as a I know all those photoshop actions don't work with Elements. I know there are ways to work round that so I'll look into that first.

Cheers

Adrian.

I use Fred Miranda's Velvia Vision, and I'm very :D with it since I've gone digital last year after god knows how long shooting Velvia 50.

This is some good info. I shot alot of Velvia 50 as well, and have been wondering how to create the saturated color in my 20D.

Are there any other "action" or "plug-ins" for NPS and NPH...do alot of weddings too :)

I mainly used google to find what I did. But i'm not sure about NPS/NPH, considering I dont hear those as hyped up as "Velvia"
