Anyone using the Sigma 135-400mm f/4.5-5.6 Aspherical RF APO Zoom Lens and a 20D or Digital Rebel? Good, bad, ugly?

This is a reply I received from Sigma Photo in Ronkokoma, NY -

If serial numbers of 135-400mm & 170-500mm start with 1 or 2, they both need to be upgraded. If it starts with 3 or higher, it is compatible. For lenses that need to be upgraded, we do it free of charge here at Sigma in Ronkonkoma, NY.

80-400mm and 50-500mm do not need an upgrade, they are compatible with 20D.
