This guy was hanging out near my home...

Fixed levels.

Contrast too high; most whites are blown out.

Better?

Next time I'd better keep an eye on the histogram... too much video editing lately, we don't use histograms so much.

We use this (there is a histogram there, not much use for video though):

A little dark and muddy I think? I'm on my laptop but it is pretty close.. have you calibrated lately?

Also, stop using your tele :D see, a little wider and you'd have the whole guy.. crouching guy sure is interesting though.

Not sure how to fix it up. Any ideas?

According to the histogram it isn't blown out, but I just can't get decent contrast... annoying.

Calibrated yesterday (I only have a huey, the cheaper one).

Actually I was trying out the 24-104. Wasn't concentrating on the other guy.... so I missed him.

You'd be proud of me Hoff. This is pretty WA for me. ;)

The histogram is only a guide, showing you where the scene lands.. but there is no "correct" histogram just like there is no correct exposure. Also there is a limited range to any sensor so sometimes to get the best out of the scene, one way or the other will be clipped.

And sometimes it just needs more curves or levels afterwards. Honestly that is a tough shot for digital to reproduce.. you want detail in the crouching guy's face but when you have that, the walker's white shirt is dull and dingy. In the olden days we'd have gone for correct whites in the print and then dodged the croucher.

I'll try brushes in Lr. Thanks man. It is a tough shot to fix. Dodging and burning would fix it... but...

...it's 4:15 in the morning!

I don't think I am capable of fixing it right now. Someone can do some editing on it.

Here is the before and after from Lr.
