Hi,

I have collected an array of lenses for my 5D and am interested in buying a safe, strong, storage case to hold all, and accesories. I've heard that Pelican makes good cases, but need help on what models are best for my needs.

I'd like to store one or two camera bodies (currently, only have one) and around 7-8 lenses, fixed and zoom, and my 580 speedlight. Largest lens I own is 70-200mm L.

Would be nice to have a place for my Apple 15" laptop , as well. Roller wheels, a pull handle for travel would be helpful to have, but not a necessity. Most likely, I'll travel with less equipement, and use a back pack instead. I'm not a pro, but a serious amateur.

I know this is a lot to ask, but I can tell by the tiny photos on the web, what these cases really hold!! Hoping someon who's gone through this, and purchased a good one, can make a suggestion!

Can you help?

I have the 1510, but I think you'll need something in the 1600 series. I don't know about the laptop, though. Just the lenses and cameras and accessories may fit in most roller bags.

Go to a camera store with all your gear and fit in the smallest pelican it will fit in, then buy that, go to a hardware store, buy to of the beffiest padlocks and chains that will fit through the holes in the case, then stencil your surname on it, then chain it to something immovable... Pretty good storage/security!

i wasnt impressed by the padlock loops on the peli, they only allow quite a flimsey lock to be used by the look of it?

The loop things are very strong!

Finding a really beefy padlock to just fit them is the hard bit... (the pelilock sucks IMO)
