a while back I bought a storm case for my camera gear on an expedition. It arrived timeiously and certainly looked the part,a day before I left I decided to test if it was sealed, after about a one minute dunk, I opened it to discover about a cm of water inside! Upon phoning the store I bought it from they came and dropped off a pelican 1300 which passed the water test perfectly, and has since been buried in sand overnight, run over by a bus, stuck in a river for two hours rolled down a 8 metre rock face, all with me thinking "**** my gear must be dead" but upon opening it is all bone dry,and good as it was when it left!

For what it's worth, I've floated a pelican case worth of stuff in a lake for a while before, taken it sailing in a small dinghy etc. While I could FEEL a little dampness on the foam around the seal, there was no real accumulation of water and no gear damage! I have a 1650 with dividers on it's way to me now and I am EXCITED!

Yes I was very careful to keep them clean...

The storms were not the regular material like the Pelicans, which I think is why they leaked...
