Here's a pic i took today on my lunch break with my 50mm 1.8.

All I did was burned the yellow of the flowers cause they were too overexposed. But what would you do to help this photo out?

Not much you can do with overexposed yellow. How does/did the histogram look?

Would any filter help out with this? Or should i tone down the exposure when i shoot this sort of thing? It's always so hard to tell how it's going to look just by checking out that screen on the back. Especailly when it's super bright out.

Compositionally it has no balance. The empty space to the left is distracting.
Get the main flower more to the left and include more of the flower in the background (but keep it blurred as it is here - nice).
Saturation is good. yellow is verey difficult to expose correctly. Very easy to bloe it out. Not bad, considering.
