my portfolio page, with images resized to ~800px on the wide end, was causing havoc w/ smaller resolution monitors (~1024 and under). one way to get around was to look at using the 'lightbox' script, which basically floats the image over the page. i had a friend whip up a quick test page, and i'm curious as to what people think:

original (click on the 'portfolio' button):

new (click on the 'portfolio' button):

thoughts are welcome!

what's cleaner than lightbox?

i decided to go w/ LB, btw...since a fair amount of my visitors (30%) are on screens that are 1024 or smaller, my 800px portfolio shots distort and/or hide some of the screen. the floating image display eliminates that, and i didn't want to make my portfolio shots smaller.
