Hi there,

Since I am a new photographer I only have started a little basic site(Visit My Website (http://www.natalieyoung.webs.com)) with Freewebs.com just to get myself out there. However, because it's free hosting there are ads (that I've been told are distracting and don't allow the picture to fit properly on the page when viewing) and very few changes you can make to the template itself and/or the page names, etc. I don't necessarily want to get a professional site yet as I'm still learning and I think I should wait until my pictures are a little stronger.

SO, my question I guess is, without having to re-learn code right now does anyone know of any other hosting (I'd be willing to pay if the templates are adjustable and have classic, clean, simple looks) sites out there that give you a good amount of space, bandwidth, meta-tag capability, etc that aren't too expensive? OR should I just keep this site and pay to get rid of the ads?

Thank you!

Natalie

I recommend www.lunarpages.com as a host. Lots of experience with them in the past & nothing but praise.

Not sure what you consider expensive, but look at photobiz.com if you haven't already.

Hi Natalie. I have a freewebs website too...but I upgraded it to the "not free" account. I think it costs about $25 (USD) per year, and you can pretty much do anything you want with it. With the paid account, there are no advertisements, and even if you use one of the pre-made templates, there is an advanced feature so you can modify it so much that no one will know it came from a template. I have little knowledge regarding css or html, but it was easy enough for me to stumble through to get it where I liked it. I'm not promoting freewebs, but I've been happy with it, especially for the price...and since you have your photos on that website already, maybe it would be easier to just stay there and modify it to your liking...then again, there's always SmugMug
