I just picked up a pack of Printasia Photo Pearl paper and would like to know what color profile/printer settings to use. I print through Photoshop CS, to a Canon I960 printer and completely understand color management.

depending on the box, should be a peice of paper in there for color management. I cant find the one i got with my 4x6 Perl pack, but it tells you exactly what setting/color shifts to use.

If you completely understand colour management, then why do you have to ask this question....

Ideally, you should have an ICC profile for your printer / paper / ink combination. If you don't have it, you can have it made - there are several online services that can make a profile for your specific combination. You download a test file, print it according to their instructions, mail them your print (by regular mail ofcourse), they'll measure the colours on your print using special equipment and make an ICC profile out of it, which they'll send to you. They'll charge you some money.

I'm not 100% sure, but Ilford does not have its own profile for that paper. On the Canon i960, I believe the settings are Photo Paper Pro, with yellow -15 and intensity +5. Can't remember. It's on Ilford's www if you don't have the paper slip from paper box. Make sure you assign the profile in PS, then use print with preview, and turn off printer driver color management when you manually enter the above settings. I get nice results with this paper.

I was actually looking for an Printasia Photo Pearl paper profile, for the Canon I960. I don't see one on the Ilford website. I guess i'll start with the profile for Ilford Classic Pearl. Thanks for your help.

I was not clear then. Ilford RECOMMENDS one use the Photo Paper Pro Profile that comes with the i960, with the adjusted yellow and intensity settings I wrote above.
