I have had this statue for nearly 25 years. My mother had purchased it for me at the time. It appears to be made of some type of sculpting resin and is approximately one foot tall. I would assume it is a smaller scale copy of some famous larger work. I really dig the two headed dog on the back! I believe the god depicted is Neptune. Does anyone know the name of the sculpture and the original artist?

It looks like a depiction of the "Rape of the Sabine Women" or "Abduction of the Sabine Women"
The term abduction is now used by scholars because the "rape" comes from latin "to carry away" and "rape" now has a different meaning in english.
The most notable depiction is http://www.talking-dog.com/photos/italy/italy-Pages/Image142.html

Not so sure, the man appears to be "King Neptune" as he has on a crown and there is a trident on the floor next to him... Very similar concept though in the Sabine work...

Very similar concept though in the Sabine work...King Neptune is the main character in the whole Rape of Sabine Roman myth, so your statue is definitely depicting that. The story goes that the Romans invited the Sabine people to a celebration of the god Neptune, and that's when the Romans abducted the Sabine women.
