Hello all,
Just want to see what you guys think of some of the shots I took. I wasnt the official photographer, just a guest with a 40D and a 580EX speedlite (kit lens 17-85mm).... and a roving eye!
Any and all CC welcome.:o
I took over a hundred shots, these are the ones I have so far had the time to process!

You need to post some on here if you want people to cc ...... people generally can't be bothered to go navigating off to other sites.

Not to be insulting, but these have the "snapshot" appearance. Much of the lighting is very basic and the photos don't have a well-defined subject.

I like number 5. great I would think is an impromptu shot. Great capture.

As you said you weren't the official tog. If these were official then I think we would be a little tougher on you ;)
The quality of the camera is apparent. Also the look processed which gives them a lift. Seem a bit over sharpened to me.
I'd say keep practicing. Do tackle wedding photography just yet. Some nice group shots and guest arrivals. Moving in the right direction. You didn't post the best pictures in this thread. There's are really nice one of the venue.

What do you mean by that line? Are you saying that a 40D is not good enough or is good enough. Thanks

I think he was talking about the lkit ense . That was my impression anyway. I like the composition of the glass with strawberry photo. Nice detail

i think they look pretty good.. im in the same boat as you.. but things i would pay attention to.. are to make sure you arent taking limbs off with the way your taking pics, or the way you are editing.
i would practice more on not using your flash for the night time shot you had there. i can see where you were going. but flash was not the way to get the pic.
they have a photojournalistic feel to them. and i personally like that.
