I know a lot of you don't get excited by fungus - but I just love finding and photographing them. Here's my latest offering - two Birch Polypores.

I think that fungi (is that correct?) are an interesting subject but I'm sorry to say that you've made better pictures of fungi than these two.
I think that you didn't show a special thing about the fungus. You'd had said that it was a stone, it would have been allright also.
Interesting subject, not so interesting composition

Fair comment. Although in #2 you can see the lateral striping typical of a polypore. Maybe this shot is more interesting to a fungi fan?

I guess pictures like these make fungi-scientists drool, just as the sight of a 1dsii would make drool half of the forum here, but that wouldn't make the picture of the 1dsii better.

What I mean is to make the shot interesting for the fungi-noob.

These I find cool...

Thanks for taking the time to look at my site. I agree with you 100% - some fungi, just like some people, are more photogenic than others.

Looks Ok to me. And the striping in the second picture really does stand out..

I think you have some fine fungi there. This is from the Upper Wisconsin Dells.

Thanks. I find it hard to capture such details with the G3 and dark days in the UK.

I haven't the slightest idea. They were attached to a decaying tree in a very narrow and deep canyon off the Wisconsin River, and got sunlight only very briefly during the day. I was just lucky to be there at the right time.
