Calling all train gurus

This has been here in downtown Petaluma for as long as I can remember. There used to be more cars too but as the years go on they slowly keep disappearing. Does anyone know if this train has any special history? North Coast #3804

Nothing special about it really, it's just an ex-Southern Pacific GP9. Of course, having lived in Canada all my life, that seems pretty special to me ;)
