Which lens extender...

In a few months, once the snow clears, (Oh Canada!) it will be time to shoot soccer. I'm looking to get an extender for my sigma 70-200 f2.8 but don't know whether I should go for the 1.4x or 2.0x extender. I'm thinking most of the shooting will be in the late afternoon to early evening outdoors, so loosing a few stops shouldn't matter. Has anyone else used the sigma extenders in these conditions and maybe could provide some advise?

1.4X gives much better results regarding image quality. But it's not much good if you need 400mm.

Their cheap,. get em' both ;)

But you will use the 1.4X much more often.
