My barn traveled all the way to Carbondale, IL for this one! CC welcome!
Only a small sampling. Going to another event this weekend.

no one? I'm amazed at how bad the quality is on here. I promise they do look much better!

They look a little soft (which I am sure is just the posting on the web)
BUT...
I would have been thrilled if they where mine. I used to Event and I would have given a ton of $ for pictures like yours :). We were always offered pictures that only had 1/2 the horse in it or other problems and for $10 for a 4x6 and this was about 8 years ago.

Thanks! Yeah I wasn't too impressed with the "pro" photog that was there. (I really hope it wasnt anyone on here!). I event myself so it's pretty easy to figure out how to shoot it.

Nice work! They do look a tad soft, but not too bad. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit tighter crop on 3 and 4. Looks like fun. Oh how I wish my boys were old enough to jump. They're only 3 at the moment, but eventing is in their future :-) It's been a few years since I've done a xc course, but I certainly have plenty of fond memories!

Thanks for the advice. And good for you for waiting! I see way too many three year olds around here already doing green as grass or beginner novice. It's sad.

As the others have said they look soft, I also noticed your camera settings are very high eg contrast hard, saturation high, sharpness hard i have mine set on zero and adjust it on the computer i don't let the camera decide how they look, i also saw that you have exposure mode on pattern you may want to change that to spot or partial, did you get any going through the water that can look good one of mine from Chatsworth CCI hope you don't mind

You have everything set on zero? (well, the things you mentioned above) I'll try that next time. And only two of our girls had to go through the water, the paint and the gray. But the gray's rider wanted me at the jump right after that where I couldn't see the water so that's all I got. Do the programs to read EXIF data cost anything?

No http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/
Also on my 1D i shoot manual and on my 10D i shoot AV (apperture priority) so i get rider and horse in focus head on @ F4 - F5.6

Thanks Southern Jumper... I was one of the "Pro" Photogs there. I haven't posted any of the images here so I'm not sure how you could judge. :)
