I'm leading two exciting workshops in Moab, Utah this fall/winter and another in spring 2009. Please visit http://www.moabphotoworkshops.com to register for any of these workshops or to learn more about our services.
The workshop details are:
Moab Fall Photo Adventure
October 23 - 26, 2008
$895 tuition
Blazing yellow cottonwoods, cooler temperatures and beautiful desert light are what you’ll find in Moab during late autumn. This workshop is timed to take full advantage of these things as we explore Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.
Local Moab photographer Bret Edge leads this workshop as we discover some of the most beautiful scenery in the Southwest. Our workshops are conducted in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere that encourages participants to learn at their own pace. Over the course of 3 ˝ days you will learn how to create stunning images of the canyons, arches and high desert plateaus in Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.
Adobe Certified Expert Nathaniel Coalson (http://www.natcoalson.com/) will lead hands-on classroom instruction in the use of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to create a functional digital workflow. Critique sessions will identify potential areas of improvement and help develop a natural eye for editing your own work.
Join us for this exciting opportunity to learn the craft of nature photography in one of the most breathtaking locations in America!
Moab Winter Wonderland
December 4 - 7, 2008
$895 tuition
Winter in Moab is a time of peace and quiet, when you are likely to have Delicate Arch all to yourself at sunset! The ever-present possibility of snow on the red rocks adds an extra special element making a visit to Moab even more attractive. Additionally, the quality and direction of light is much different from other seasons and presents some unique opportunities for photographs.
Led by local professional photographer Bret Edge we will visit and photograph the beautiful vistas, large and small, of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. During our 3 ˝ days together you will learn the craft of nature photography through hands-on experience in the field and in the classroom.
Join us for this exciting opportunity to photograph Moab at a time when most other photographers have already packed up their cameras until spring!
2009 Workshops
Adventure Photography 101
March 6 - 8, 2009
$500 tuition
If you carry a camera during your outdoor adventures this workshop is for you! Over 2 1/2 days you will learn how to create magazine quality adventure photos as we explore the trails and canyons of Arches & Canyonlands National Parks. We will learn how creative camera angles, different lenses/focal lengths and innovative techniques can be successfully utilized to photograph outdoor athletes engaged in exciting adventure sports. After this workshop you will be able to create dynamic images from your adventures in the canyons, deserts or mountains.
Workshop participants should be fit and experienced hikers as we will spend most of our field time on the trail. This is a rare opportunity to learn an aspect of photography not often exploited by outdoor photographers and explorers!
