View Full Version : Light Painted Vibe

After last weeks experimentation, I figured I would try again this weekend. Is this too subtle with the light painting? And yes I know there is too much noise but the fog and dew rolled in not long after this shot and ruined the rest of the night, not to mention got the camera and lens a tad bit damp.

too subtle with the light painting? Except for the reflection of the light on the car at the edge of the rear wheel, it looks pretty good. I'd darken the sky more & lighten the car + add some contrast.
As it is, the sky makes the car look darker in contrast. Keep in mind that our eyes are drawn to the brighter parts of the shot. And those bright areas tend to make the dark car look even darker. Take a look at POST #30 near the bottom: The gray bar at the center is the same density all the way across.

Thanks for the hints. I have tried your suggestions here. I am not too sure about the results though. Lost alot of the wispy detail in the clouds/sky and the car looks plastic/neon now.

I like this one better, but it's your shot, so you need to suit yourself first.
You forgot, "reflection of the light on the car at the edge of the rear wheel," ;)
