I'm drawing a blank here. During my first photography class we did a project where we took a piece of photo paper and placed a bunch of different objects on it. Then proceeded to illuminate it with the light from the enlarger for a specified period of time. Then develop it and get an interesting image of the sillouettes.
I know this process has a name but can't remember it and someone I know is asking me what it is and it's driving me nuts. Can anyone help out???

No need to go nuts.
The name you are looking for is PHOTOGRAM.
Contact Prints are different Glenna.
For contact printing the Negative is in contact with the photo paper. ie No enlargement of the negative image at all.
In a photogram there is no negative at all.
An object eg a pair of scissors or a bunch of keys or branch with leaves is laid on top of the photo paper and the light is turned on to create the image.
You end up for example with a white image of the scissors on a black (fogged) surround.
