This was taken with my one-week-old Powershot S1 IS. Needless to say, I'm just getting started with photography. I always liked taking pictures of my friends on various occasions, but my point-and-shoot camera was just not enough good for quality pictures. Now that I finally bought myself a "decent camera", I can finally express my long hidden love towards photography.
The photos were taken on a sunny afternoon at exposure time 1/2000 s and aperture size f8. I know that the second one has a much better composition, but the first one looked like an eye in the sky to me, so I left the sun in the center.
I would be grateful for any comments and advice!

Good 1, John. Keep on shooting, Tomaz. Those are really good shots, but maybe you need to get a little more interesting subjects, like sunsets or sunrises. You'll be able to get some real nice ones with your S1. If you don't have a tripod yet be sure to get yourself one. You can pick up an inexpensive one (about $30 or $40) at B&H Photo, a good place to deal with.
