I took the advice nicely given to me and tried the 36mm tube with my 70-300 and got these shots. Really wish I had a steadier hand or the patience for a tripod. Gonna give it a little while longer before deciding to sell my Kenkos or not. I could use the money to buy some more camera gear..

I am thinking of renting a macro lens to see if it is easier for me than these tubes.. (Btw, anyone got any recommendations on places to rent lenses from?)

Here they are.. no laughing

C&C and helpful suggestions welcome please, total newbie here...

Really wish this shot had been better/clearer/whatever I love the way his shadow looks behind him, makes him look like such a badass lol I sharpened it up a little to make it pop.. pretty sure its overdone but I suck at PS too lol This guy was very little, could have easily fit on a half of a dime.

This spider (believe a banana spider) has been hanging out on my front porch all week. Hard to get a good shot because when it sees me it starts to vibrate its web. I refuse to let anyone hurt it, hubby hates it lol

If you go down the line of getting a macro lens, the extension tubes may serve you well.
My fav is the caterpillar.

I am not sure why anyone would laugh. I think you did great with tubes!

Even if you do get a macro lens, you will still want the tubes so that you could get closer.

Now try the 28-105 at 105 mm with the tube.

Warning, you will have to get closer. And remember, patience.
