So, I shot a wedding last weekend. Didn't have all the equipment I wanted, felt like I needed. My extra batteries had a mixup in the post and still haven't arrived, and just couldn't afford a new flash.... (Still trying to pay for the camera;) ) But think it turned out alright for a first time Non-Pro not getting paid situation....ended up with about 300+ usable photos. I haven't edited the photos except for size. The lighting was terrible and the rebel's on-board flash is not the best. Still, I think its ok. The reflection in the knife was an accident, as I didn't notice it until I downloaded the photos. I think it turned out exceptionally well. The Groom is an arborist, and thats why the cake was sitting on a tree slab. Hope you Like, Any comments welcome.

DB, That's a pretty nice shot of the B & G, but too bad about the window being directly behind them creating a reflection of your flash.
Speaking of reflections, that shot of the knive and fork is pretty Cool. :D

I guess if I was getting paid, I would have been more serious, but I could not get them to do anything! My wife was even helping... It was a very small wedding in a very small place. After the wedding I could barely get any pictures for the various relatives getting in my way and trying to take their own pictures. The mother and bride were very disorganized and not focused on getting good pictures. Tried to get them back in the library where the service was... wasn't happening... could not move them... Relatives just mobbed them after the service and kids running around everywhere... Just couldn't get them to do what we wanted... On the other hand, if they had been paying, they problably would have wanted their moneys worth, and would have listened and done what we asked. All in all, I had fun, and learned a lot.

I did a wedding this summer that had the same kind of trouble. "Can we do the group shots now please" "Oh, just a few minutes we really want to..." Repeat ad infinitum until I pointed out people were actually started to head home. Still it was fun and I did get enough good results.

And yeah, and if you are using a flash, beware windows, they are evil incarnate. :)
