How do you store your Canon EOS Digital Rebel?
What strap are you using?
Do you carry your camera in a bag? Brand?
Share an extra tip.

I use the strap that was supplied with the camera, I currently use a Lowepro Nova 4 to store my gear but I have ordered a Mini Trekker AW.

I use the supplied strap every time I pick the camera up, and if I let anyone else touch it I put the strap around their neck while i'm still holding the camera.
I use a LowePro backpack, I forget the name, but it kinda flips open and there's a compartment which is the lower half of the bag. It has a general compartment at the top I put lenses and general stuff in. It's not great for quick access, but I just keep it around my neck when i'm using it anyway.

Bought a plain wide Canon strap, as the original strap clearly says to thieves, here's a digital to steal.
Use a Lowepro Mini Trekker backpack when I'm out in the wild and a Lowepro Reporter shoulder bag for walking about town.
Extra tip: I use a viewfinder trekking pole, which is a cross between a monopod and Leki walking pole.

I am using a Vero-Vellini strap with a VERY comfortable neoprene rubber section which really helps with the weight of the camera with a big lens. I also use a LowePro Computrekker to hold ALL my camera gear and lenses and cleaning supplies and have a Tamrac top-loader which is large enough to hold my 20D with my 75-300 IS USM lens attached or when I have my Tamron 28-75 f2.8 lens on it, there is room also for either my 50mm f1.8 or the 18-55 kit lens. I just ordered the Tamron large lens bag to attach so I can carry three lenses with the camera along with a water bottle, for hiking.

I do not have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel.
I store my Canon EOS 20D + almost all of my gear, in a Tamrac bag (5275 backpack).
I do not have a strap on my 20D. I have both the Canon hand strap and the neck strap, but I have yet to figure out how to install either. Yes, I have RTFM ... and yes, I am lazy (and insured).

If you are a sports photographer operating on the side of a playing field, please use the billboard red Canon strap. The advertising helps.
I am not a pro sports photographer, so I use a plain gray strap which is less distracting to subjects and is less attractive to thieves.
I have a LowePro Computrekker. Even when I have all my equipment and a heavy laptop in it plus a tripod tucked on it, I am amazed at how little I notice it when I use the waist strap snug and the cross-chest strap, whether I am walking or cycling. I also have a LowePro gadget bag that is good.

"I let anyone else touch it I put the strap around their neck while i'm still holding the camera."
tim: i haven't let anyone touch my camera yet. i might need a support group to let that happen though.
"the original strap clearly says to thieves, here's a digital to steal."
mdr: are you from new york? i am! :)

Neckstrap: Tamrac nylon strap with quick detach hardware. I tried a neoprene strap but with a heavy lens and flash it felt too much like a bungy cord.
Storage: On a shelf in the Camera Cabinet.
Case: OK you got me there. I have two Domke bags (large and small AF series), LowePro Nova 4, Crumpler Love 15, a Dana Designs large waistpack, and a Delsey rolling camera case. I looked at a LowePro Stealth 400 AW which I would like to add to the collection. I prefer to use a bag which will hold just what I need for a given shoot and no more, so that I am carrying the smallest bag possible. When shooting at a social function where I have to access stuff quickly I prefer the Domke bags. Just lift the lid and everthing is right there where you can reach it. For more protection and less speed the Crumpler and LowePro bags are excellent. When hiking or in places where I don't want to look like I am carrying photo gear I use the waistpack or daypack with inserts from the Domke bags.

Recently upgraded to the 20D and a couple of zooms so I'm still trying to figure it out myself. In the meantime, I'm using the Canon strap but considering switching to my old leather strap from my A1. Am also using a Domke bag of the same vintage as the strap. :)
if I let anyone else touch it I put the strap around their neck while i'm still holding the camera.
What a great idea Tim! I was wondering what I was going to do when friends realize I have a new toy. I cringed when my wife picked it up!

I use the original Canon strap, haven't yet had the time to get something less fancy.
I use a Tamrac Velocity 7 that is nice as I can put my 20D with Tamron 28-75/2.8 with the lens hood attached inside and sling it around my shoulder. It also holds my kit lens and charger, but not my Metz MZ42 flash. Maybe the Canon flash would fit instead of the charger, but it would be a close call.
Best regards,
Andy

Not a DR, but Canon's or an OpTech neoprene strap. The kit lives in my Domke F1-X; it may move to smaller Domkes if I don't need everything, or if I'm travelling super-light, a body, 2 lenses and a flash in an Adorama Slinger. Hiking - the discontinued Domke Quest Giraffe, Roo-Spider combo.

Bought a plain wide Canon strap, as the original strap clearly says to thieves, here's a digital to steal.
I've noticed the original strap (on a DRebel, at least) can easily be turned over and it becomes a plain black strap.

I wear my straps backwards, so I'm not doing any free advertising and I keep one body and short lens in a Lowa Pro TLZ and the other in a Eagle Creek deal that looks like a travel bag, but has padding for camera's in it, which holds a med zoom and short or med prime. Years ago I kept everything in one bag, which was really convienent for the person that stole it. I try to keep things split up now, just in case that certain person has worn out my old stuff and is looking for something new.

Standard strap. I store and use small Domke F4AF Pro Shoulder bag. What I love best? The wide shoulder strap and the strap which goes around my waist - reducing shoulder strain and making 'grab bag thievery' difficult (because they get all 200 lbs of me with the bag)!
A Domke user from way back, I store my camera with lens down in the left side. 2 additional compartments for lenses.
Front pocket stores extra compact flash cards and Compact Drive 60GB HD.
Side pockets have filters & lens cleaning items on one side, a bag of peanut M&Ms and a small roll of toilet paper in the other. (OK - laugh - but it comes in quite handy in many regions outside the US!)
The large flap - which covers the top & front meaning you don't have to buckle closed when moving about on a shoot - contains a pocket on the inside. I keep a pen, small pad, and business cards here. The back flap has a grey card.
Keep in touch -

I use the Hakuba KGP-02 single handed grip (no grip) with the original Canon strap and store all my gear in a Tamrac Velocity 3.

Optech Pro strap
Nice and comfortable, quick release clips great for when you mount on the tripod, nothing worse than a damn strap hanging all over the place.

I have to agree with TREKKER 2005 figuring out what bag for all this camera gear is really tough. If only canon made an "L" bag there would be no problems. LOL....LOL

I use a POTN strap, and a cheap and nasty (soon to be replaced by ?) hama bag. It was OK til I bought my 24-70 2.8, now I feel I need something a bit bigger.
