wow tobiah these are very cool.
I love your creativity, it reminds me a lot of anne geddes. cant remember how to spell it.
Anyways the first one is amazing, what a good baby to put up with all that, most kids loose it as soon as a photographer comes in the room!!
Again a beautiful series

#4 is VERY creative!
I love it!
#3 is amazing... It is so simple, but the colors, contrast, light, composition, ect. make it a wonderful photograph.
I am always excited to see your latest work :)
I follow your blog and your flicker in google reader, and love to see all your latest photos.

Child cruelty good grief give the guy a break, I am sure if it wasn't fitting the parents wouldn't have got him to do it. Congrats on upping your post count.
Great pics by the way.

Lol :D we were actually joking saying some fool would say its child cruelty... the tuba was lined with numerous amounts of blankets... he actually started to fall asleep in there!

Tobiah

Thanks, the father holds the netting and then i take a section from the otherside flip it and clone out the fathers arm and hand using the various tools.

Muso family huh. love the first well done. i agree, the parents wouldnt allow their child to be at risk (coming from a parent) and i think its something different that most people they know wont have and will admire.
I look forward to the next.

Sheesh, I knew when I saw #1 that someone would spout that kind of BS.
Tobiah, this is a beautiful set, and some of the most imaginative comps I have ever seen for baby shots. Huge kudos to you!

What was your lighting on this...one light source, softbox?

yes one 580 ex2 in a softbox at halfpower. (very cheap softbox) handheld by my assistant.
als for some had a rim light with cto gel at 1/16th (prob more like 1/20th as was the vivitar 285hv the 580 is more powerful i think

Very nice and different. I absolutely love #4, only thing missing is a stork, or that was after it left. Great job on the set.

Loved all the photos. In the piano photo you can see the reflection of someone on the left. Just wasn't sure you wanted that or not.

Tobiah, I love your work. I never thought you would endanger a newborn by letting it fall through a tuba, and then get ejected out of the spit valve.
You did a wonderful job with George. I know he was totally safe. ;)
