Can some one tell me what these sizes mean? I am looking to make a 4 inch x 6 inch size does that have a specific letter and # that goes with it?

Cheers for the help.

A4 is a paper size that's used in the non-American world (i.e. most of it). It's 8.27 x 11.69 inches in size, as opposed to 8.5 x 11. You'll get two 4x6s on this size paper.

Hope that's close to an answer. Oh, yes, the other A just belongs with other sizes -- A1, A2, A3, A4, A5. A Google search will get those exact dimensions for you.

Cheers,

Don

Like he said above, outside of the US doesnt use the "US Imperial" measurements. Something like the A1 I learned was about the same thing as 20x30 printout. If you think about it, a far more pratical unit, as in the US , we just pretty much say "letter", "13x19" , etc. I remeber on my camera, when pluging into various PictBridge Compatible devices, the size Hakagi often comes up, I assume its a japanese standard similar to 4x6.

A4 = 21x29.7 cm
A5 = 14.85x21 cm
A6 = ...

If you take the ratio of the length to the width of an A*, it's the same for all A-types, about 1.41=sqrt(2)
so one A4 = 2 * A5
you can always divide one A-type to get exactly 2 smaller A-types
That you can't do with the American-style formats.
