I can't go into the detailed on how the bag happens to be in my possession... And I won't post photos either.
Reasons are because I don't want the source to get in trouble.

Anyway. Ask me anything here. I've got the bag right next to me so I can check anything at all.

How about giving us some details as to what it is? backpack, shoulder, what can you fit in it, what colour is it etc.? :p

It's a pretty hefty backpack. It's around the size of your hips to your neck.
It has 2 clipon traps that can go around your chest and your waist for extra sturdy-ness. These traps are both adjustable.
The back is black on the outside with the Canon logo near the top. On the inside it's all orange.

On one of the shoulder straps there's a little pouch which looks like it could fit a mobile phone.
On one of the sides it has a little area which has a protective rain cover in it.

The bag itself seems quite weatherproof and has adequate sealing across all the zippers.
The bottom of the backpack is made of thick sturdy almost sandpaper like (but not as harsh) material.
The part that sits against your back has cushioning.

Near the front-bottom (facing away) there's a zipper that opens up a little hole in the back where your dSLR sits for very easy instant access.
All the main zippers have little strings attached which allow for very easy opening and closing.

Now lets talk about the inside of the backpack..
When you open it there's 2 flaps. The first flap has a mesh area in which you can fit all your AA batteries and dSLR batteries.
The middle flap has 2 main pouches.. one small and one big. Looks like room for your CF cards. In between the pouches there are little flat storage areas for your business cards (similar to where you put your cards in your wallet). Above that there's 2 areas which fit pens.

Once you move that 2nd flap over there's the main area of the bag. This whole area is entirely customisable with segments which attach with very very sturdy velcro. All the segments are very thick and sturdy.
The middle fits your dSLR which could have a very long lens attached as it goes all the way to the top of the bag.
On the sides of that there are 3 (to the left and right, 6 total) compartments which would fit anything from a 580EX to a 50mm or anything really.

That's pretty much the whole backpack for you.

Overall I'd give it a 9.5/10. It's very sturdy, not too heavy.. and easy to use.
I'm not sure when Canon will release this to the public though.

Another area I just noticed is a zipper on the back of the bag (the flat area resting against your back)
It only opens on one side and should fit any flat paperwork like model releases or your portfolio.

Damn this bag is awesome. : D

The back flat area I mentioned in the above post actually fits a laptop.
The laptop I managed to get in there quite easily is a 17inch screen chunky Dell.
So even if your laptop is pretty large, it should fit.

how big is it compared to the current canon backpack?
and can it fit a 40D + grip and lens attached without being to snug and stretchy?

Does it look like a camera bag?

I just don't want to wear a bag that's labeled as "I AM A CAMERA BAG" in others eyes.

And is there any "Upper compartment" for additional stuff? Like the Kata bag or Lowepro Fastpack?

This one?

It's larger in height.

It can easily fit a 40D + grip and lens.
My lens is pretty wide (10-22mm) and it fits perfectly.
It looks like it could even fit the higher end FF dSLRs + 300mm fixed lens and grip. Lots of room. All customisable due to the awesome sturdy velcro chambers.

No, the inside is a little similar to this:

but with better design.
edit: Yea it kinda does look like a camera bag... unless you cover the Canon logo along with their slogan. ..then it just looks like a pretty regular backpack.

What? Didn't it work properly for you?!

On other thoughts, I think this was mentioned before: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=44296 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ssh71hePR8Q&feature=related)
after the first time, i became jaded and didn't touch another link in this thread.

judging by the above remarks, i am assuming they got Rick Roll'ed multiple times.

once was enough for me.

No apologies, for any fun had by anyone.

I was bored on break.

Yeah....... it's not like a moderator would PM me to tell me to stop either.

:)

I love mods.... seriously, they're like friendly police. :D Bit scary, with their eyes everywhere... and then there's the title (monster) fairy... better be careful what I say...

;)

Anyway, I'll try and bring this back on track.

Umm the bag sounds good, yeah. Really nice etc.
