Just got my Rebel Yesterday. So far I am just shooting in auto mode. How come if i take 2 shots very close together of the same subject, framed the same, settings are the same, The second one will be lighter than the first. I noticed this a couple of times already. I am going to have a lot of these dumb questions. But believe me I am reading a lot and trying to learn.

Hi Qeenbee288
Don't worry about the dumb questions. We all ask those every once in a while ;)
Now, in order to help you... I guess more details are required:
1. Can you publish the two shots so we can see the difference?
2. Where you indoors or outdoors? Did you use flash?
There are tons of good links in the "sticky" area. It is always very good to take a look at them. There are tutorials on DSLRs that can explain you the basics... I enjoyed those a lot!
Regards,
Leo.

Thanks for the quick response. I can't post because I alrealdy experimented in photoshop and I didnt keep copy becuase these were just experimental shots. Yes I did use flash and it was indoors. The first shot was underexposed and the second one was great. Does that help?

have you got exposure bracketing enabled? look in the menu and see...
if you have, then the camera expects you to take 3 pics at a time - the 1st will have normal exposure, the 2nd is either darker or lighter (can't remember which way round!) and the 3rd will be the opposite of the 2nd one.
