16-35mm L len fix by Canon

My 16-35 was sent to canon to adjust the foucs problem.
- I have it on my previous 1DMKII and 1DSMKIIs
- But all the shoots turn out soft at AF
- So I sent it in for adjustment
- After I get it back, it seems OK ( I post my noise problem with this len)
- But did not try it out at the day time for landscape yet
- It cost me USD50.00 and 7 days for the adjustment.
- The tech. told me that from time to time people dring lens in for adjustment to match their camera body. Because the cameras and lens all have tolerance. If the cameras and lens tolerance are at the far end side than it will affect the focus.

Does higher cost of production, hence, higher selling price, thus, less competitive ring a bell?

I guess, USD50.00 is more than the high quality production cost.

But if I brought it in within the warrenty, then I don't need to pay the 50.

So, once you think you have problem with the foucs, send it in ASAP.
