From tonight, some pictures of the moon, relying on a regular telescope with a 6.3x and 9.6x eyepiece magnifier, handholding the camera (with IS of course) at ISO 800 and an unusually clear sky.

Nice shots. Glad to see you posted these in the astrophotography thread as well. Great work hand holding, not an easy task.

thanks!

at first it was relatively hard to mount the camera on the tripod as the moon kept moving and I havent figured out how to use the auto tracking on my brother's telescope. i test fired a couple at ambient and got a blur. so i figured id focus manually, set at a high enough ISO and use 1/10 sec speeds and went up incrementally. I found 1/60 at F/5.6 (zoomed in) ISO 800 to yield the best compromise.

I will give it a shot again later this week if weather permits. its a new area for me and wanted to try something new :D
