some of the windows in these houses are artificially doctored
but boarded up underneath
(while waiting to be demolished)
they look real from a distance
(like from across the street) ?

yet it is (somehow) beautiful out.

this is in another town about 30 miles from where I live
I rang the council this morning (before I posted the pictures)
to find out about the houses as I was sad to see the likes of them go forever .
but the person I needed was away until this evening.
at the time I took the pictures I couldn't delay as I had to get back and off that street a.s.a.p.
(car parked and pressure was on with the driver)
The Good News
the council told me the houses are all ok .
some of them are privately owned and they will be preserved .
their appearance .
they are very small
building can go on at the back of them if they need to be extended
the ones about to fall down will be rebuilt
and all is well.
thank goodness for that as they are a delightful sight in a busy university town
thanks Damian

The faux windows are neat. Occasionally, no, make that very rarely, a boarded up building in Hartford gets some window treatment, usually a school project where kids paint something on the plywood before the contractor installs them in the windows.
It's sad to know some of these buildings are coming down. The replacements never have the charm of the originals.
Thanks for the scenes.

These are some of my favorites from you Marie (aren't they a tad too sharpened).
I think so aam 1234 (re over sharpened)
I was trying not to but wanted the chimneys slates and doors etc sharp enough
but then the pebbles ( on the walls) got a bit gritty (over sharpened)
the first picture I done accented edges (whatever it's called) in elements
to make it a little bit weirdy..ish looking
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif
thanks a lot for saying.
