Well, here they are...my first time with the new lens. The settings were 1/320, ISO 800, with the 1.8 setting. What do you think?

Nice shots, man ....

The top image looks a little underexposed - but, if that gym is anything like the gyms I shoot in, 1/320 is just a bit too fast on the shutter to prevent that underexposure at ISO 800. My optimum exposure in my gyms is usually ISO 800 at 1/250 .....

But I like 'em ...... you gotta like that 1.8 .....

Ditto. Good shots with your 85/1.8.

The exposure recommended by cecilc seems to work for many basketball venues. You can only get to faster shutter speeds at higher ISO (1600, 3200).

These are super! Well done!

Pretty soon Canon will run out of those 85mm f/1.8 lenses! It must be the most popular lens in the world at the moment...

These are super! Well done!

Pretty soon Canon will run out of those 85mm f/1.8 lenses! It must be the most popular lens in the world at the moment...That is happening already. B&H and KEH have been out of stock for almost 2 weeks, so I finally ordered mine from Adorama.

Thanks guys...without this board, there is no way I would have known what lens to buy. I purchased mine from Adorama. The total cost shipped was $336.65. I just wish I would've gotten this lens sooner.
