The guy was giving away free rides around the park too. I had to pass, as I was there to shoot the American Queen (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=565736). :)

I'd rather not think about it.
I guess I could give some information about this car. It's owned by Dahl automotive here in town, a dealership since 1920. The guy driving it works for the Dahl family and takes care of upkeep and rebuilding of all the antique cars they own. He had completely rebuilt this one's electrical system, which worked off of the battery or a magneto, once it was running. It's a 1923 Hack, had a 4 cylinder motor with an electic starter and started easier than my Dodge, sounded better and didn't seem to make any fumes when it ran. I don't remember any smell from it. He told me the engine used a splash system for oil, no pump. It splashed oil up into several metal cups up inside the block and gravity then fed the bearings as the oil ran back down. It didn't have a real transmission, but ran on bands from the three pedals on the floor. The gas was on the column. The brakes were terrible, and he sometimes he had to give it a touch of reverse if he had a load and was going downhill. ROFLMAO

That would have been darn cool to see... thanks for posting up the info about it, too - makes it more interesting :)
Good detail shots, too...

Thanks Jim and Jamie. It's really laid back here. The guy volunteered the story of the car and was giving people rides around the park in it. It was funny, he was going out of his way to grab people as they went by, "Hey, come here, you want a ride, here, let me help you up there..." It was very cool. He even took the cover off the coils there and showed me how he had rebuilt them and what they did. You could tell he loved his job. :)
