Two from a recent trip to Thursley Common. This first I think is a female Black Darter, the second is definitely a male Black Darter. Both have had no PP other than resizing.

Lovely shots of both of them :D
The first one is a Common Darter not a female Black Darter. The legs have the yellow stripe on them and also the black marking on the frons (across the nose area) is not substantial enough.
For comparison - and I hope you dont mind me loading this pic - here is a pic of a female Black Darter taken also at Thursley earlier this summer. You can see a much thicker area of black on the frons, black legs and the give-away 3 dots on the side of the thorax:

No problems at all Linda, you obviously know your dragonflies much more than I do. I wasnt sure on the female darter - glad you can put me right. And at least I will know for the future.
Will post some more from Thursley in the next day or so.
