Although the images are very well done, the couple looks very detached and lacking emotion.

4 is good.....but agree that their is not much emotion with the photos. The couple is a little tricky because of their size....there are tricks you can use to de-emphasize their size--and then get them to feel comfortable in front of the camera so they loosen up a bit.

Thanks everyone, actually they were a lot of fun and very free, despite their size and were even very open about limitations etc.
I know the "tricks" but honestly did not feel they needed to be portrayed as "thin" or hide who they were, they were very comfortable in their skin. They don't smile a lot and are more serious. I honestly think she was more uncomfortable then him if at all.
I'll be shooting their wedding in June. We'll see what happens then!

I actually like these. It's hard to get people to smile at these e-sessions. Dang it! I love the hand one, Leesa. If they were smiling, it would have been a bit better.

Hi suzy
Yeah they just were not smilers...in fact I did do a bit of Liquify on a few of her images to give them a bit of "smile" look.
They had to have loved them, they ordered a ton! I was thrilled.

I'm sure you will do well at their wedding. Thanks for sharing Amber and Justin with us.

I think they came out nice. Also a big shot of the brick background!
I have a story for you that should make you smile.
I did e-shots for a couple and when they showed up, I was trying to get them to smile more. They did actually warm up a bit, she was smiling, but the man would not smile. Finally I started joking and said, I need to see some teeth! The fiance replied, "he doesn't have any teeth..." I felt bad for like 10 seconds, then just started joking about other stuff and got some good smirks. We got some good shots, and they were quite happy with the pics.

That is a good story, and a good lesson, thatnks for sharing. Who would have thought he had no teeth!
I guess we can't let something stop us, if we did, then I think I would question my worth as a pro. Just have to roll with the punches, realize we are human and go on!
I know I'll be sharing that story :-)
