...as Bob Seger would say!
This is from 2 images manually stitched together. One exposure to capture the sky and another for the road.

Looks great, though I would have brought some light into the trees or taken it out of the grass, just looks a bit unnatural. Or maybe it's just my laptop screen.
Cheers.

Hmm.... could be. Looks good here :)
It was very dark and the way it looks on my screen is pretty accurate to how it was when I took the shot. I couldn't see any details in the trees.

Nice stitch. I can't tell where one shot stitched to the other. The colors are nice and rich. I like the concept. I think I might even like it more if you cropped out all of the sky above the tree tops on either side. The emphasis would be on the highway and it would look like more of it stretching out.

Thanks. It's funny you mention cropping. I did a similar shot (http://www.flickr.com/photos/thereal7/2650954188/) to this a while ago and thought I shot it landscape and then cropped it to portrait. I had that on my mind and so I thought I should shoot portrait this time as I liked how the first one turned out. Well, I was ALL wrong. haha. I should have shot this landscape but I still like it.

Nice depth, 3D almost.
Exposures look juicy on my Mac laptop.

I think it's great, portrait oritentation is fine with me.

Oh, I think portrait orientation was definitely the way to go. Definitely. I'd just like to see the vanishing point of the highway at about the first third line. Less sky, but definitely the orientation the way it is. The other highway shot is wonderful, too!

I'd either crop some sky or crop some road, but both is a bit much. My eye keeps wandering back and forth.

That's exactly what the highway looks like to me after 6+ hours. I think it's pretty much perfect.

Think it looks great. Strong composition and the stitching looks seamless.

Agree about ridding yourself of some of that big ol sky.but everything else is your usual brilliance;)

Love the picture! Colours and composition are great. I also like that you have your name in the border and not spoilt the picture with a water mark. :)

So... was this shot East of Omaha?
According to Google Maps it's directly north and SLIGHTLY to the east. So I guess, technically, yes, it is! haha

Were you forced to manually stich or did you just choose not to go it auto?
I'm wondering if photoshop would have a problem merging/blending due to the different exposure.
GREAT SHOT though. I love it.

Great shoot, composition is perfect like it was in the frist one. The cropped one is right by the rules and I would have liked it more if I hadn't seen the frist one. They both work very well.

Thanks :)
CBL, I did try to use Photomatix to merge an HDR image but no matter what I did I'd get the haloing effect and I didn't like it. So this is the first one I have manually stitched with photoshop.

I like this in portrait. Would have been to wide in landscape. This way you will focus more on the road and get the sky as a bonus.
