Hope this section is OK to post these...
Below is the shot of "traditional Japanese new year food". Prepared only on the
new year eve. All edibles in this preparation are supposed to serve some purpose, for example something is going to keep you healthy, other will keep you sane, keep your eyesight well etc etc. There is one even to wish for getting babies :) (Oops i eat one of them  )
The second is a special soup called Ozoni, made os soyabeans - this too is only for new year as far as I know...
Let me know what you think

Yeah you are correct, I am at work, my work days are fixed so superbowl or no superbowl, i have to be in !
On the contrary, I am logged on this forum all the time :-) i am really addicted :-)
What kind of shop do you own by the way (if you dont mind sharing) ?
I heard Okinawa is a beautiful place, but i have never been there. I plan to go there this year. What time of year is best to visit ?

oh i don't own a shop. it's a military term i guess. shop just means workcenter... the immediate people you work with. I'm a boundary protection specialist for the kadena air base computer network. (network security)
Okinawa is great but it also gets old. it's like hawaii i guess... nice place to visit but a ****ty place to live after a few years. it's too small and the people are.... different.
If youre going to come here come in august

Got it. I reckon what you mean about Okinawa. I am in Tokyo for 2 years now & every now & then curse the concrete jungle, the hectic life etc etc. Honestly, its a good place to work but not a great place to live.
However, I wud still choose to work here...
BTW, if you ever plan to come to Tokyo then we can probably meet. Seems like you & me are the only people in this forum from this side of hemisphere :-)

:-) I'm getting out of the air force next june and I'm job hunting... linux/unix/BSD firewalls... probably just get a job with a US government contractor on a military base. I just started taking japanese classes but damn... it's hard.
I'm hoping to move to either mainland or europe... :-)
if you end up coming down here let me get you a beer. there are some nice pictures to be taken in the summer time... but now it just seems like everything is grey.

Too far fetched but, I know some good head hunters here in Tokyo. let me know if you are interested. None of them deal with militry though.
Japanse is tough, but you know I just got my L4 test result yesterday - 86.25% :-)
Will definately let you know if I am coming.
Cheers :-)
