Camera problem?

Please take a look at these images. It's from a friends camera (Canon Power Shot S1 IS). It looks to me as though the camera or sensor has about had it. I switched CF cards with one of mine and it took the same type of shot. Formatted his card,etc. with no change. Has anyone seen this before?

Check the sticky on the PowerShot Service Notice sticky at the head of this forum. Looks like that might be the cause, and if it is, Canon will fix or replace for free.
