Has anyone heard of any word on a refresh coming up for this lens in the coming weeks?
I've been eyeing this for quite some time and finally have enough money to purchase one.
Coincidentally, I have a photo assignment over the weekend that requires this (I just bought an EOS 3 and it's currently lens-less). I don't want to purchase this, and then have a new one announced two weeks later. Especially considering the mis focus issues it has reported to have. I've looked up many different stores' return policies, and the ones that have the window to Photokina open for returns are all sold out.
I don't know what to do! Should I just get the 1.8 for the weekend and then wait until Photokina to see if they announce a new one? I feel like if I do that, I'd waste my money on the 1.8 regardless if they announce a new one or not..
So, my point being...has anyone heard of anything, far fetched or plausible, about a new 50mm L?
