:-) :-). Thats is seriousy close...looks like the big white lens could have been close to becoming a perch ! - Either that or you may have had white camera to match :-) :-). Maybe I should have a go at magpies like that in the breeding season when they are trying to pick holes me :-).

I'm going to guess that about 11.5 feet is too close.
Not only do these shots amaze me for the shots themselves, but they also amaze me because of the abilities of this lens. I am *so* glad I bought one. Now I just need to find some birds in flight...

I don't know how to 'top' this . . . but one can try I suppose. Very, very nice as I have noted. You guys are so darn lucky.

You're lucky that you didn't get "you know what" in your face. When ya gotta go, ya gotta go.
Neat shot buddy. You really did have an awesome day there.
Now too bad (no really I'm sincere) that you can't go out tomorrow with us.

Yes that is "in your face close" good thing there wasn't anything dropped in your face cause at the range there would be no missing or is that messing
Just fantastic, I'm amazed at how sharp the photo is.

If Ian had a 600mm lens instead of the 400, he could have done a colonoscopy on that bird.

If I had had the 1200 prime I could have seen his.......aww hell, the 1200 wouldn't focus that close. OK I'll go for a 600 instead and the colonoscopy. :):):):)
